An Eye for Dandelions

Dandelions? I dig them out and pull off their blooming heads. Fortunately that is not how my daughter sees them! She recently provided me with new respect for the yard pests. These will become notecards available in our etsy shop. You can click on this blogs sidebar Pocket Shop to see the final product.

Getting Ready For Our Annual Meetup

Every year about this time Kira and I get together to romp, roam and reminisce. Our criteria is simple. We meet somewhere between the two states where we each live and explore with the purpose of reconnecting and taking photos. We are both passionate about the natural world and everything it offers. We have lots of talking and laughing to make up for, and generally take in a chick-flick if we can find a town nearby with a theater.

Last year we rode a steam engine to the ghost town of Sumpter Oregon which swells and overflows 3 times a year with a giant flea market. During the train ride an old fashioned holdup was staged. A 4 year old took it all too seriously. The sheriff was perceptive and sought out the little guy. Double fistfuls of candy helped to ease the boys concerns, and at the end of the ride those bad cowboys rode back into town and offered all the kids a horseback ride. Later we made our way back to Baker and found an excellent Mexican restaurant. Service was great and left just enough time to grab seats at Sex and the City 2. I hated to see Sunday arrive!
